I promise you its not clickbait 🙂 So first a confession; I thought climate tech was the preserve of the tree hugging brigade; we all know at least one of them one of them - definitely vegan, favourite drink is a skimmed almond latte and they are always pleasant until you express any doubt in climate change - God help you from that point. I was always scared of engaging them because like a Jehovah’s Witness on Sunday morning, once you open the door to them they will not stop preaching. Actually thinking about it, that is an exaggeration and I really must apologise; to the JW crew.
It's great there's at least one person thinking about this. I was telling Marge Ntambi just a few days ago, these are really big problems. The type that requires a round table with smart investors, ecosystem knowledge exports/deal brokers and expert AI/ML/Process/Infrastructure engineers in a monthly meeting. An alliance that binds people working towards a common goal to divide and conquer. Building new infrastructure (in particular internet/communications infrastructure, data assembly/fine tuning) which can take advantage of modern crowdsourcing strategies like Helium network, setting up hardware manufacturing factories, setting up an engaging open source data collection mechanism that can keep local data coming in. My opinion with power, is that it's really one of the easy wins, there's a lot of natural gas in Africa and lots of ways to utilize it efficiently such that the process is even more carbon efficient than solar (most solar panels are produced with coal by the way, let's not talk about the batteries today). If you can lead the conversation on this, it would be really great and I would really love to be part of such an alliance/forum
This struck a chord !!
Energy is the pathway to data power!!!
There is a lot to unpack here.... Jezzz
